Conceived as the modelling of a single sheet of paper,One Pagepays homage to the continuity of forms that enhances the sculptural poetics ofRon Aradand to the manufacturing expertise of the Friulian company. The polyurethane “sheet” fulfils a dual role as the rigid load-bearing external structure and as the flexible internal padding. The resultant armchair, lacking cushions and padding in the seat, armrests and backrest, nevertheless creates a continuum of comfort, an essential goal of this project of ergonomic research. The special production process superimposes a soft and flexible moulded form on a rigid frame, eliminating the need for traditional padding as a source of comfort. Designed for residential and contract markets alike,One Pagehas a five-point-star swivel base in die-cast aluminium and is available with or without a tilting mechanism. The footrest is made with similar production technology to extend the sheet concept that inspires the armchair.
